What does ISO 22241 compliance mean?

ISO 2224 is a standard developed by technical committee ISO/TC 22, which frequently undertakes SC 5 subcommittee engine testing for road vehicles. This standard is primarily concerned with the handling and storage of diesel exhaust fluid distributors. The recommended standards specified in the ISO 22241 document are necessary to maintain a specified quality of diesel exhaust fluid from any point of production to the point of filling the vehicle's on-board fuel tank. To recap, compliance with ISO 22241 means that the DEF distributor you use must be designed to keep the diesel exhaust fluid pure and prevent damage to your engine.

What are the advantages of having an ISO 22241 compliant DEF dispenser?

Now that you understand what it means to comply with the ISO 22241 standard, it is important to identify the key benefits of having the right DEF dispenser. Section 4 of the standard states, "To avoid DEF contamination and prevent corrosion of equipment used (vessels, pipes, valves, fittings, gaskets, hoses, DEF dispensers, etc.), all materials in direct contact with DEF shall be Storage, including sampling, should be compatible with diesel exhaust fluids". This means that your DEF fluid dispenser tank assembly can only be made of polyethylene or stainless steel.

The main advantage of having a DEF fluid dispenser built to the correct specifications is that it will obviously last longer and keep the engine of your expensive machine in good working order.

It's worth looking after your device and not risking irreparable damage.
