According to the "Letter to the European Commission's Euro 7 Emissions Industry", it can be known that the Euro 7 emission standards require that the carbon monoxide emissions of tail gas be reduced from the current 500-1000 mg/km to 100-300 mg/km, while the nitrogen oxide emissions must be reduced to 30mg/km. Among them, the Euro VII emission proposal will force traditional fuel vehicles to be equipped with heated electric catalysts, two 1.0L traditional three-way catalysts, a 2.0L particulate filter and an ammonia leakage catalyst, thereby further reducing the maximum sequential emission of air pollutants.

In addition, the EU also recommends that gasoline vehicles be equipped with an on-board diagnostic system to monitor the engine to ensure that it still complies with emissions regulations within 150,000 miles, eliminating aftermarket modifications to the exhaust system. Under such high standard emission requirements, the only way for fuel car companies is to develop internal combustion engines with smaller displacement. However, based on the current technology, it is necessary to invest more in the development of internal combustion engines that meet Euro 7 standards. These costs will eventually be borne by consumers as well, so car prices may rise further in the near future.

According to predictions, Euro 7 will lead to a significant reduction in the number of large-displacement engine models in the world. V12, V8 and diesel engines will gradually withdraw from the stage of history. This is shattered, and future cars will either be driven by pure electric motors, or only have a power system consisting of a small-displacement engine + electric motor, which is unacceptable to many consumers.
